About Me
Realistic Dog Training specializes in personalized 
in-home dog training, providing tailored solutions to transform your dog into a well-mannered companion. With a focus on positive reinforcement and effective communication, my goal is to train the pet parent to SPEAK DOG! I understand that every dog is unique, and my customized approach ensures that both you and your four-legged family member will benefit from a strong bond built on trust and understanding. Consistency is key to training positive behaviors so a team effort is important for positive outcomes.  My background has been in the veterinary industry for over 30 years in practice, veterinary pharma sales, pet grief support, canine nutrition and as a small pet service business owner and certified dog trainer since 2014. I am a Professional Member of the International Association of Canine Professionals and PetSaver CPR & First Aid Trained. My formal education includes an AAS from SUNY Farmingdale, NY, in Veterinary Technology and a BS from Cornell University, NY, in Animal Science/Marketing.

 We started working with Kelly because we were overwhelmed with our 'out of control' puppy named Frankie. He is 1-1/2 years old and never had any formal training. He was jumping, barking and running away every chance he got. Kelly helped us in our home and we immediately saw change. She gave us techniques for helping with the jumping, barking and impulse control. We worked hard on our homework and saw progress each week. By the time we completed our training, Frankie was able to sit, sit-stay, come, reduced barking and stay at the door is getting better daily at distractions outside. It is a work in progress and Frankie is making progress! Kelly encouraged us to get a safe gate for the front entryway and it has helped so much since we have lots of kids going in and out that way. Her training techniques are pet and people centered. She was always thinking of what was best for both Frankie and our family. I would DEFINITELY recommend Kelly to anyone that needs help with training their dog! She's amazing!

 Kelly is amazing! She is extremely passionate about what she does and truly cares about her customers and their fur babies. Kelly helped us train and transition our new Labrador mix rescue, Marigold, into our family and helped with some basic training. She is great at customizing each training session and training location to meet your needs and accomplish your goals. She successfully trained Marigold to sit and stay at the door whenever it was opened. We trained her to shake and lay down. We also had a training session at the Monon Trail to train Marigold not to pull and visit every person and dog that walked by. She left us with homework each time so that we could practice what we had learned. It only took us a few sessions to accomplish our goals. She was always available for questions and provided a wealth of knowledge about food types, treats, toys, walking harnesses, etc. I would definitely recommend Kelly for all your training needs.....you won't be disappointed!

Basic Obedience Training Program

Comprehensive obedience training program covers basic to intermediate commands, ensuring your dog is well-mannered and responsive. Sit, sit-stay, down, come, leave-it, off and loose leash walking are covered. 6 session package - $ 420.00

Mild To Moderate Behavior Modification/SPOT Training

Specific behavioral issues are addressed such as excessive barking, jumping, leash pulling, leash reactivity, bolting out the door and anxiety with customized solutions for lasting change. 1 hour training session - $75.00 Have a question about training, choosing a new puppy breed, behavior concerns or food suggestions and just want to speak with a trainer? Book a 30 minute 'Talk To The Trainer' session! 30 minute phone consult - $45.00

Puppy Training

Everything Puppy 101 Foundation training and understanding your new puppy. Includes crate training, potty training, mouthing and destructive chewing, treats & toys, exercise, puppy proofing your home and introduction to basic commands. 3 session package - $210.00
